      Although we thoroughly proofread your essay, thesis, or dissertation, we make it a policy not to "do" the work that you are responsible for knowing.  What we will, however, do is point out where words are improperly used, where sentences need clarification, where paragraphs need better transition or re-positioning...and we'll give you advice on how to correct the problems we find.  We also help guide you towards making your writing more clear and concise, and we alert you to parts of your paper that may need more explanation, examples, comparisons, contrasts, and other techniques for strengthening the content of your paper.  We'll also encourage you to do fact-checking whenever we come across statements that we believe may be inaccurate, misleading, over-general, or otherwise questionable, imprecise, or unclear.  And where we find improper footnote/endnote style, we'll point you to the appropriate rules in the style manual you're using (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Kate Turabian, MLA, APA, AMA).
